Ka Huina 2020
EVENT DETAILS
ʻEia Hawaiʻi, ka huina o ke ao. Here is Hawaiʻi at the crossroads of the world.
The Hawaiian term KA HUINA literally translated means the intersection or nexus. On March 12, 2020 the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association invite you to join us at KA HUINA – our second annual convergence of leaders in thought and action at the dynamic intersection of TRADITION and INNOVATION.
In the middle of the vast Moananuiākea, Hawaiʻi lies at the crossroads of a rapidly changing world – the intersection of heaven and earth, of east and west, of tradition and innovation.
Inherent to Hawaiʻi’s visitor industry is a responsibility to understand these intersections as the largest economic driver and employer of kamaʻāina, as the stewards of many of our natural and cultural treasures, and as the representatives of our home to the world. Our collective success in preserving the Hawaiʻi we love for future generations is dependent upon our ability to navigate these intersections.
Our discussions and presentations are framed by compelling issues and bold initiatives within Hawai‘i tourism, sustainable development, our local communities and Hawaiian culture and language. KA HUINA will also feature the finest in Hawaiʻi-made products on Hana Lima Avenue and an evening networking reception.
Registration is open at NaHHA.com. You can get the latest KA HUINA updates by following @NaHHA808 on social media, and signing up for our email list. Sponsorship packages and limited scholarships are available.
One of the day’s highlights will certainly be a stroll down Hana Lima Avenue (adjacent to our meeting room) where creative artists and entrepreneurs will showcase their limited editions of cultural designs and products, all of which will be for sale.
With aloha for the Hawaiʻi we love and all those inspired by it, we invite you to join us for this special day of learning, sharing and connecting. Aloha.

Hawaiʻi’s artisans and entrepreneurs live at the intersection of tradition and innovation – whether it’s exploring new materials and methods to express traditional forms, bringing traditional knowledge to contemporary home decor, or bringing traditional botanical remedies to innovative body care products.
To celebrate the creativity and spirit of these entrepreneurs, we’ve put together a curated shopping collection alongside our Ka Huina conference – and we’re calling it Hana Lima Avenue.
