Honolulu Mini Maker Faire
Join us for our 6th Mini Maker Faire in Honolulu. Last year we had over 1000 attendees for this one of a kind event.
- A Mini Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement.
•Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
•Maker Faire is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies. But it’s not just for the novel in technical fields; Maker Faire features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.
•Maker Faire makes visible these projects and ideas that we don’t encounter every day.
Attendance is Free! Why sign up for a ticket?
Signing up for a ticket will help us to gauge how many people will be coming and will help us plan our exhibits and interactive displays so that we will have enough materials for everyone to take part and enjoy. We also pre-register everyone to speed up entry to the event.
Workshops
This year we have soldering classes. Seat reservations will be announced soon, but even if those are filled, there will be limited opportunities for walk-ins. Go to the soldering workshop room on the first floor at ‘Iolani’s Sullivan Center and sign-up on site for one of those limited walk-in slots.
Drone Racing
Drone Racer-X Circuit (Baseball Field)
Skills Course: This is a timed event where the operator must fly their drone through multiple obstacles. The goal is to complete all challenges in the shortest time.
Speed Course: The race will consist of three laps around the course. At the completion of the last lap the pilot will land on a predetermined landing zone for additional seconds bonus.
Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering to help out during the event, please sign up for any of the remaining time slots above and we’ll send you more details.
